Fifteeen Firearms Seized In Nevis

The royal St. Christopher And Nevis Police Force has launched an investigation after fifteen firearms and more than fifteen hundred rounds of ammunition were seized in Nevis.

Officers responded to Colquhoun’s Sstate Thursday morning after customs officers detected irregularities during the inspection of a shipping container outside a private residence.

A search of the container uncovered firearms, including rifles, pistols and revolvers, hidden among household items shipped from Canada.

Officers also seized more than fifteen hundred rounds of assorted ammunition.

The weapons and ammunition have been sent for forensic examination.

Police say investigators are working to determine how the firearms entered the Federation.

No arrests have been announced.
