Grammy award winning artiste to hit the high notes in St Kitts tonight

ZIZ News…May 13, 2010 – A Grammy award winning performer will be taking to the stage in St Kitts later tonight, with the aim of raising funds following Haiti’s devastating earthquake in January.

Dobet Gnahore is originally from the Ivory Coast but now resides in Paris. The Grammy award winning artiste will be performing at the Blue Martini Bar at the St Kitts Marriott resort later this evening.

ZIZ News caught up with Dobet at her press conference which was organised by Alliance Francaise, who has been instrumental in getting the artiste to come to St Kitts straight after performing at the St Lucia Jazz Festival.

Dobet says when she visits her African homeland it gives her the inspiration to write her lyrics.

Also performing with Dobet tonight are two local artistes, Charles Miller and Samal Duggins. Charles Miller said singing on the same stage as a Grammy winning artiste will give him the exposure that Soul and R and B artistes like himself need.

Fellow local artiste Samal Duggins said tonight’s audience will get the first hand opportunity to hear his poetic talents.

Dobet and her musicians, will be performing on the same bill as Charles Miller and Samal Duggins later tonight at the Blue Martini Bar at the St Kitts Marriott Resort.
