Grenada Tourism Authority now represented in Germany

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada — The Grenada Tourism Authority has appointed Margit Schwarz of Discover the World Marketing GmbH as sales representative and focal marketing point in Germany. This appointment supports the imminent return of Condor’s direct flights from Frankfurt, Germany, to Grenada in November 2014.

Schwarz has represented Grenada before in the German market and is familiar with Grenada’s tourism product and the travel trade in Germany. Her company will promote Grenada as a destination through training sessions in partnership with key travel agents and tour operators. The German office will execute a travel agent education programme, attend trade and consumer shows, and schedule familiarization tours to Grenada.

The German market has significant potential for Grenada. This year for the period January to June, there was almost a 100% increase in the number of German visitors compared to the same period in 2013, as well as an increase in the time spent on island.

The Grenadian tour companies on island offer island excursions with German language services and there are also German-based establishments on island.

The Grenada Tourism Authority continues to target tourism markets through its headquarters in St George’s, Grenada, and its supporting offices in the United Kingdom, Germany and, within the upcoming months, the United States and Canada.
