LIAT suspends services to St. Kitts and Nevis

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, February 14, 2010 – LIAT wishes to advise that it has suspended services to the Robert L. Bradshaw Airport in St. Kitts and the Vance W. Amory Airport in Nevis.

LIAT was forced to suspend services because of the presence of airborne volcanic ash over the Twin-Island Federation.

Services to Guadeloupe remain suspended for a second day as the authorities there have taken a decision to keep the airport closed until Sunday because the runway is reported to be covered with a significant amount of volcanic ash.

LIAT will continue to assess the situation and provide further updates as necessary.
