St Kitts – November 5, 2010 – The National Carnival Committee has announced that the Soca Monarch Spectacular on December 18 will receive new energy this year. Some of this renewed energy was released on Sunday when Beaumont Park officially endorsed their brand for the title of the show.

In a brief ceremony after the races on October 31, Beaumont Park’s General Manager Richard Cummins expressed his company’s satisfaction of once again partnering with the Carnival Committee in this national cultural event. He was especially pleased that his company is coming onboard to assist in the development of the Soca Monarch show which was shelved for the last two years.

Chairman Clement Ogarro and his Deputy Shannon Hawley accepted the sponsorship on behalf of the Carnival Committee. In his brief remarks, Ogarro predicted that the Soca Monarch will become one of the biggest events during the annual carnival. He also expressed his approval of Beaumont Park’s regular contributions to carnival. With this deal completed, the name of the show will be the “Beaumont Park Soca Monarch”.

So far the show has attracted local, regional, and international attention from soca artistes. A total of 17 individuals, duos, and groups have registered to participate. The announcement of the contenders for the show would be made after a judging process on November 20.
