Lion’s Club hosts developmental workshop for private and public sector managers

ZIZ News…February 19, 2010 – The St. Kitts Lions Club wants to provide managers with the tools to overcome challenges created by this rapidly changing environment and to be more effective in the management of their organizations.

The club is looking to achieve this goal by conducting a developmental workshop dubbed ‘Leadership Challenges in the 21st Century.’

Vernon Ray John, the Developmental Officer of the St. Kitts Lions Club is responsible for training new inductees as well as the chartered members of the club. He told ZIZ News that this time around they are extending invitations beyond the perimeters of their group.

Mr John gave an outline of the seminar which is scheduled for Tuesday 23 February 2010 at the Bird Rock Beach Hotel and will be facilitated by Dr Lennox Sealy of Trinidad and Tobago: “It deals with new enlightenment theories. These theories of management and technology that you look at, we’re going to use actual examples; political examples, sporting examples and international business examples. We assure you that at the end of this one day workshop you will have a great enlightenment of the new processes involving new management and new leadership skills.”

The Developmental Officer told ZIZ News that they have observed that people have the wrong perception of management and leadership. He says they have decided to pioneer the venture in order to stimulate individuals’ minds and expose them to new perspectives.

Mr John noted that the seminar is geared towards middle and senior managers in both the private and public sectors.
