Local Author Celebrates Second Book Signing
BASSETERRE — Author Veronica Julius held a reading and signing for her second book, The Love I Deserve, on Saturday at Bougainvillea Books & Gifts, Shadwell Great House, drawing residents together to celebrate her personal story about love and self-worth.
The event brought together longtime supporters and newcomers who came to hear Julius read from her book and share in the milestone. Attendees purchased copies, listened to the reading, and spoke with the author about her writing journey.
“There is something so emotional about looking back at these photos and realizing, this really happened,” Julius said, reflecting on the turnout. “I got to sit in a space surrounded by people who came to celebrate something that once existed only in my mind — a story I was once afraid to let anyone read.”
Julius said the gathering included both familiar faces and people she was meeting for the first time, united by what she described as a shared message.
“Everyone came together because of one little book, one story, and one message: the love we deserve matters,” she said.
She thanked those who attended for their support.
“You helped turn what could have been just another Saturday afternoon into a memory I will carry with me for a very long time,” Julius said. “Thank you for believing in this story. Thank you for believing in me.”
Julius described the signing as a turning point in her writing career.
“From being afraid for anyone to read my writing… to standing beside a group of people holding my book in their hands. What a moment. What a blessing. What a reminder to keep going,” she said.
The Love I Deserve is available locally at Bougainvillea Books & Gifts, Shadwell Great House, and on Amazon.
