Nevis Culturama 52 Crowns Parade, Road March Winners

CHARLESTOWN — Nevis crowned its Culturama 52 Street Parade and Road March champions Tuesday night, closing out the island’s summer festival with a burst of costume, color and music that organizers say showcased the depth of local artistry.

The Grand Parade, held through the streets of Charlestown, saw troupes compete across four categories: Folklore, Ole Mas, Float and Fantasy. David Dynasty took top honors in Folklore, while “Back in De Good Ole Days” claimed the Ole Mas title.

In the Float category, “U 2 Young 2 Know Bout Dis” edged out “From Roots to Ribbons” for the win. The night’s marquee category, Fantasy, went to “Four Seasons – Whisper of Oualie,” with Anastasia Revellers finishing as first runner-up and The Bank of Nevis’ “Ikonic Mas” taking second runner-up.

On the music side, DVX Reloaded was named Road March Champion with “Sugar Daddy,” a title that recognizes the song played most frequently by bands during the parade. KT Dan’s “Fete-oholic” placed second, followed by Delly Ranks’ “One Rum Friend” in third and Jeezy Sparta’s “Mad People” in fourth.

Culturama organizers thanked the troupes, masqueraders, bands, designers, volunteers, sponsors and patrons who took part, describing the parade as “another unforgettable display of Nevisian culture” and crediting artists and bands with keeping “the spirit, energy, and celebration alive throughout De Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Lime.”
