People’s Action Movement announces date and venue of annual convention

People’s Action Movement Leader Lindsay Grant is confident of being re-elected party leader unopposed

PAM Secretariat…June 4, 2010 – The St.Kitts-Nevis main opposition party, the Peoples Action Movement, have finalized the date and venue for their 45TH annual convention. Party Leader Lindsay Grant indicated that he and his party are keenly looking forward to the staging of the event which will be the first after the recent January 25th elections.

“I indeed am pleased to announce that all reconciled and un-reconciled issues will be endorsed or decided at the annual Caucus and subsequent Convention which will be held on Sunday July 11th at 11am at the Royal St.Kitts Hotel, ” said People’s Action Movement Leader Lindsay Grant.

The Party’s convention will be within weeks after the party’s caucus which will also be held at the Royal St.Kitts Hotel on Sunday June 13th. The caucus is the forum at which delegates of the party will decide on the executive that will guide the work of the movement for the next year.

“My position as Political Leader are among the posts that will become vacant at caucus, but I intend to run again, said Grant. ” As always, I’ll adhere to the dictates of the rank-and-file of this great party, but I’m confident I will be unopposed,” Grant continued.

The 44th edition of the annual convention held in 2009 was graced by guest keynote speaker the Hon. Mia Motley, opposition leader in Barbados. The party is expected to announce the very esteemed guest speaker for this years convention shortly.
