In a message shared Saturday, October 10, Dr. Drew reflected on the long relationship between St. Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan. He noted that diplomatic relations date back to the Federation’s independence in 1983.

Over the past 43 years, he said, the two nations have supported each other and built a relationship rooted in mutual respect and cooperation.

The Prime Minister also spoke about his personal experiences visiting Taiwan, praising the warmth and generosity of its people. He said the relationship holds special meaning for him, both personally and as Prime Minister.

Dr. Drew extended his best wishes to Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te and the Taiwanese people. He expressed hope for continued friendship, shared progress and new opportunities for cooperation.

The Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis in Taipei also issued a congratulatory message for the occasion. In its statement, the embassy highlighted the 43rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The embassy reaffirmed the Federation’s commitment to close ties with Taiwan, citing the enduring friendship, mutual respect and cooperation that have marked the relationship. It concluded by wishing the government and people of Taiwan a happy National Day.
