Principal murdered at pre-school

Port of Spain, Trinidad, January 6, 2019 (Trinidad and Tobago Guardian): The first day of school be­gan trag­i­cal­ly for pupils of the Ba­by’s Pre-School who saw their prin­ci­pal be­ing bru­tal­ly stabbed in what po­lice have de­scribed as an in­ci­dent of do­mes­tic vi­o­lence.

At about 7.20 am Jezelle Philip was at pre-school lo­cat­ed at the cor­ner of In­de­pen­dence Square and George Street, Port-of-Spain when she was at­tacked by a man she knew. Philip was stabbed sev­er­al times about the body.

The man fled the scene but lat­er sur­ren­dered to the po­lice at the Besson Street Po­lice Sta­tion. Philip was tak­en to the Port of Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal where she suc­cumbed to her in­juries.
