RYLA assist with community projects

ZIZ News…Nov. 2, 2010 – A group of young persons from throughout the region spent the first half of the day rendering services to ZIZ in the form of creating Public Service Announcements and assisting with the beautification project which is in the first phase.

They are here taking part in the Rotary Youth Leadership Conference 2010 hosted here by the three Rotary Clubs in both St. Kitts and Nevis.

As part of the conference they were required to take part in a community project which will benefit the island and their work at ZIZ was in keeping with the overall theme of the conference which started on Friday.

The Public Service Announcement centered around various topics such as the need for drivers to wear seat belts, health issues, stop crime and violence, violence against and women, care of the environment, HIV/AIDS among others.

First phase of ZIZ’s 50th Anniversary Beautification project

As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of ZIZ Radio a project is being carried out to beautify the surrounding and the opportunity was used to get the young men and women to assist with the planting of flowers at the front of the building.

The group of about eleven persons along with Rotarian Mr. Lee Bailey toured the facilities and interacted with the staff as part of their visit to the broadcasting institution.
