SKN U14 Boys Set for CFU Challenge Series

BASSETERRE — St. Kitts and Nevis’ Under-14 boys national football team will travel to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from Aug. 16 to 23 to compete in the 2026 CFU U14 Challenge Series, a regional youth tournament organized by the Caribbean Football Union.

The U14 Sugar Boyz was drawn into Tier I Group B alongside Aruba, Curacao and Jamaica, one of three Tier I groups competing for the tournament’s top division title. The team opens group play against Jamaica on Aug. 17 at 9:30 a.m., followed by a match against Curacao on Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. SKN closes out the group stage against Aruba on Aug. 19 at 1:30 p.m.

The group stage runs through Aug. 20, with the top finishers advancing to semifinal matches on Aug. 21. A rest day follows on Aug. 22 before the tournament concludes with the final on Aug. 23. All matches, including the semifinals and final, will be played at venues in Punta Cana.

The competition features 24 teams from across the Caribbean split into seven groups across two tiers. Tier I includes St. Kitts and Nevis, Barbados, Bermuda, the Dominican Republic, Martinique, French Guiana, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao and Jamaica. Tier II includes Bonaire, the British Virgin Islands, St. Martin, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, the Cayman Islands, Dominica, Turks and Caicos, Anguilla, the Bahamas, Guyana, Montserrat, Grenada, St. Lucia, Suriname and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Group winners and top-placed teams from each tier will advance through the semifinal rounds on Aug. 21, with the two tier finals scheduled for Aug. 23. The CFU has noted that the published schedule remains subject to change.

St. Kitts and Nevis football supporters will be watching closely as the young Sugar Boyz take the field against their regional rivals, with hopes of advancing beyond the group stage for the first time in the tournament’s current format.
