St. Kitts and Nevis establishes diplomatic relations with UAE

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations, His Excellency Delano Bart, Q.C.

ST. KITTS, JUNE 20, 2010 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis has established diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at ambassadorial level.

Both nations signed a joint communiqué on Wednesday at the UN Headquarters in New York, establishing diplomatic relations.

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Permanent Representative at the United Nations, His Excellency Ambassador Delano Bart, Q.C. and UAE’s permanent representative to the UN, His Excellency Ahmed Al-Jarman signed the document.

The communiqué said the governments of the UAE and St. Kitts and Nevis will promote cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, social, humanitarian, cultural and scientific areas based on the principles of the UN Charter of international law.
