St. Kitts, Cuba Share Points in Six-Goal Thriller

The Sugar Boyz and Cuba played to a 3-3 draw on Friday at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, in a result that keeps both sides unbeaten and tied atop League B, Group C of the 2026/27 Concacaf Nations League.

Kyle Kelly opened the scoring for St. Kitts and Nevis in the 26th minute, but Cuba struck twice in quick succession through Y. Perez in the 29th and D. Castasus in the 38th to take a 2-1 lead. Perez added his second of the match in the 51st minute to put Cuba up 3-1.

St. Kitts and Nevis fought back in the closing stages. Tyreece Simpson pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute, and Tiquanny Williams leveled the match in the 88th minute, salvaging a point for the hosts.

Williams’ goal extended his tally to six through three Group C matches. He scored twice in the opening 2-1 win over Bonaire (36′, 89′) and added a hat trick in the 3-0 win over Grenada (11′, 17′, 78′ penalty), giving him a goal in every match of the window so far.

St. Kitts and Nevis held a slight edge in possession, 54% to Cuba’s 46%, with each side managing seven shots on goal. The match was more heavily officiated on the St. Kitts and Nevis side, which picked up three yellow cards to Cuba’s one. No red cards were shown.

The draw leaves St. Kitts and Nevis and Cuba both on seven points through three matches, with the two sides meeting again Monday, October 5, at Hasely Crawford Stadium to close out the group’s centralized fixtures. Grenada and Bonaire remain winless through three matches apiece.
