St. Kitts U19 Cricketers Return Home From CWI Camp

BASSETERRE — Four young St. Kitts cricketers returned home last week after completing the Cricket West Indies Under-19 High-Performance Camp in Antigua, part of the regional body’s preparations for the 2027 ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Aaliyah Weekes, Zara Skerritt, Cquinya Dasent and Leanga Warner were welcomed home by St. Kitts Cricket Association (SKCA) President Dennis Phillip and Leeward Islands Women’s Coach Percy Daniel, marking the end of the players’ stint at the high-performance program.

The camp was designed to develop and prepare the next generation of West Indies women’s cricketers ahead of the 2027 World Cup, which will be held in Bangladesh and Nepal.

The four players’ participation follows their selection to the CWI training group earlier this year, after Weekes, Skerritt and Warner represented the Leeward Islands at the Rising Stars Women’s Under-19 Championship, where Skerritt and Weekes finished among the tournament’s leading run-scorers.

Their return home caps another step in the players’ development as St. Kitts continues to build depth in women’s cricket ahead of the road to the 2027 World Cup.
