Traffic Department warns all to stay off the roads; Visibility poor

ZIZ Newsroom, Aug 30, 2010, Basseterre – As Hurricane Earl continues to hit St.Kitts the Traffic Department is warning people to avoid using the roads.
In a report on ZIZ Radio, Officer Cromwell Henry said the road at Old Road Bay is blocked with stones and debris and is impassable.
He is warning all drivers to not use that road.
Similarly Pond Road and Sandown Road near the fire station are flooded. Officer Henry warns drivers to stay away from that area as well. He says that at the time of the report they were helping a 4 wheel drive vehicle that was stuck in the flood waters in the area.
He says visibility is poor and all drivers should stay off of the road unless absolutely necessary.
