Trinidad opposition claims election challenge focused on process not outcome
Counsel representing the Trinidad and Tobago opposition United National Congress (UNC) in its election petition currently being heard by the high court in Port of Spain said the challenge has always focused on the process not the outcome.
At issue in the case is the legality of the EBC’s decision to extend the poll by one hour from 6 pm to 7 pm due to heavy rainfall in Trinidad on the day of the general election, September 7, 2015.
