UK Police Probe Missing Commonwealth Athletes
Police in the United Kingdom are investigating after four members of Uganda’s boxing team were reported unaccounted for following the 2026 commonwealth games in Glasgow.
The Uganda Boxing Federation said only two of the team’s six boxers had returned home, while four others remained in the United Kingdom.
Those yet to return include team captain Nuhu Batte, another male boxer and two female team members.
However, the Boxing Federation said it was too early to describe the athletes as missing, noting that their UK visas remain valid and some team members were expected to return later this week.
The commonwealth games ended on Sunday after bringing together about 3,000 athletes from 74 countries.
Meanwhile, there are also reports that a Pakistani boxer also failed to return home as scheduled.
