World Relays tickets go on sale

NASSAU, Bahamas (CMC) — Thousands of tickets went on sale Monday for the inaugural International Association of Athletic Federations (IAAF) World Relays scheduled for May in The Bahamas.

They include Gold, Silver, Bronze level and general admission tickets for the World Relays May 24th and May 25th

The announcement was made during a press conference to mark the 100-day countdown to the two-day meet.

“With tickets going on sale today, I can guarantee that whatever ticket you decide to go for the event will leave a deep and lasting impression on you,” declared Lionel Haven, Managing Director of the Local Organising Committee (LOC).

“The athletes who will be involved in this event are the fastest in the world and I urge everyone to take this chance to be there and to be a part of history in the making.”

Meantime a leading insurance company, a retail store, and beverage company have been unveiled as the first three national partners for the (IAAF) World Relays.

Organisers say the signing of Atlantic Medical Insurance Company Ltd., Caribbean Bottling Company Ltd. and John Bull Group of Companies is a major milestone for the LOC.

“Coca-Cola is proud to be a partner sponsor of the upcoming IAAF World Relays Bahamas 2014,” said Mrs. Jennifer Basden, Caribbean Bottling Bahamas Ltd.

About 15000 spectators are expected at the Thomas A Robinson National Stadium to witness the relays to be attended by over 1,000 athletes from more than 40 countries.
