ZIZ Radio incorporates mobile technology into its advancement in the Broadcast Industry

ZIZ News…May 14, 2010 – As ZIZ Radio continues to keep abreast with the new technology as it relates to reaching out to our audience far and near, it has once again moved ahead of the competitors by adding a new feature to the website – ZIZ Mobile, mobile.zizonline.com, which was officially launched earlier today, Friday, May 14, 2010.

Working with our host, AJ Technologies, ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation has engaged our listeners and viewers and where necessary took steps to improve and upgrade on what we are offering.

With the large increase in mobile subscriber base and usage throughout the world over the years, research shows that mobile web browsing will out-perform normal desktop web browsing. It was therefore imperative that ZIZ provide this additional component not only to extend the longevity of ZIZOnline.com but also provide our faithful listeners an additional medium to receive and send information to ZIZ.

ZIZ Mobile ensures that even if an individual is not close to a computer, radio or television they can still communicate with the station. Although the current website can be viewed on mobile devices, they have much smaller screen sizes than desktop, therefore mobile optimization is extremely necessary to reduce whitespaces and make the website much more presentable on the devices.

Among the key features provided by ZIZ Mobile is the optimization for five categories of mobile devices including the iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Palm and other Windows devices, automatic browser detection and redirection and news where mobile visitors can view the latest news.

Meanwhile, the redesigned fully Interactive Home Page of radio.zizonline.com brings together listeners and DJs and provides both with the tools necessary to communicate effectively. It encapsulates the persona of the DJ currently on air. The homepage is fully synchronized with the radio schedule and dynamically changes to provide the visitor immediately with the name, photo, show and personalized welcome message of the DJ on air.

The Board of Directors, Management and Staff of ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation have been working hard since the new and improved website was launched to make sure that as the technology improves we are not left behind and so the launch earlier today of the new features to ZIZOnline.com, which are ZIZ Mobile and ZIZ Radio revamped features.

The Acting General Manager of ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation, Vere Galloway commented that he is pleased to see the strides made in such a short time since the site ZIZOnline.com was revamped. He continued “it continues to be a work in progress as we seek to stay ahead of the game and make radio more accessible to our listeners and clientele.”

The launch was carried live on ZIZ Radio with DJ Kupid in conversation with our IT representatives here at ZIZ Jerrold Liburd and Cherlese Ruan.

ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation has also recently put in place an IT section with two promising young persons who have excelled in this field locally and are pursuing their dream by furthering their studies at University.
