Pickpocket sentenced to 8 months

A man who was caught and arrested for snatching money from a tourist has been sentenced by the court.

Eustace Edwards was charged for stealing fifteen US dollars from a tourist’s pocket at Port Zante on Friday. He was today sentenced to eight months in prison.

He was also banned from going to Port Zante for the next two years. If he fails to comply he will be sentenced to a further four months in prison.

On Friday police officers and members of the general public chased down Edwards after he stole the money. The police have thanked the public for their help in the arrest.
