11 Calypsonians Perform On Night One Of Virtual Legends Calypso Tent 2020

Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 14 , 2020 (ZIZ News): The Calypso Tents virtual series 2020 kicked off on Saturday 14th November with the Legends Calypso Tent.
11 Calypsonians took centre stage around 8pm to perform their songs in Carnival Village, Warner Park, St. Kitts.
The virtual show streamed live via the St. Kitts Nevis National Carnival Facebook and YouTube Pages as well as ZIZ’s TV and Radio platforms.
Featured performers included Looshus with his song “Since”, Lord Payne – Gal You Caliente, Neglector – In And Out, King Irvin – Plantation Legacy, Bad Man Polo – Mark That Mother For Tim, Jackspaner – Footprints In The Sand, Singing Sensation– Thank You All The Same, Mighty J – Rope, Brown Sugar – Sex Offenders List, Turkey Killer– Get Real and Lady Diva with “Cough It Dey”.
Based on feedback from the viewing audience, one of the highlights of the show was the stage design which reflected Bankers Mas Camp’s 2015 Band of the Year piece dubbed, “Golden Memories-A Cultural Selfie”.
The Calypso show kicked off the Sugar Mas 49 activities but with aims to control and manage the potential spread of the Novel Coronavirus and in adherence to the COVID-19 protocols, the SKN Carnival Committee decided to forego a live audience during this year’s event. The virtual show did however manage to garner more than 7.8 thousand views on Facebook alone in comparison to its usual 100-200 patrons.
Sandra B and Monarch were the On Stage Hosts. Commentary was provided backstage by Director in the Department of Culture, Troy Biff Mills.
The action continues on Saturday, November 21 with the Proud Sounds Calypso Tent.
