15-year-old hosts “Camp Shana”

(ZIZ News) — 15 year old Adele Archibald Is offering what she refers to as an innovative, creative, informative, involving and fun experience geared at building self confidence.

Her brainchild, Camp Shana began a year ago when Archibald hosted a few children at her house.

This year, the camp will cater to approximately 40 children between the ages of 7 and 12.

Speaking with ZIZ News, Adele gave an overview of Camp Shana.

“My camp is called Camp Shana after my cousin. She passed she was only 12 years old. My ca,p is going to be at AVEC. It’s for ages 7 to 12. It will be $35 dollars and will have games, arts and crafts, field trips, speakers. Snack will be provided; heavy snacks and light snacks,” she said.

Adele said the camp will give participants a chance to learn about different topics.

“Some of the topics are personal etiquette, cyber bullying, peer pressure, personal defence, how to protect yourself, the importance of living for God. I know some children might not really want to hear about that or think it’s not a topic for children but everybody needs to know the importance of living for God,” she said.

Adele expressed thanks to everyone who has helped to make camp shana a success including her parents, grandmother and her aunts.

Camp Shana takes place from august 8th to 19th.
