ZIZ News…April 17, 2012 — A young man was shot and killed at Upper Shaw Avenue in the early morning of Tuesday April 17 making it the sixth homicide so far for the year.

Dead is 19 year old Trevis Henville of Shaw Avenue who was killed shortly after 8am.

In addressing the media, Police Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Stephen Hector appealed to the public for assistance in solving this homicide. He said the police are following a few leads but could not say whether the incident was gang related or not.

“It is a bit early to conclude as we basically said that the incident took place just after 8am. What we can say is that the victim was shot multiple times. And it will be a little bit premature for me to conclude if it was gang-related or not. However, the police have certain leads at this time and we’re going to pursue them. Hopefully within a short period of time, we should be able to report on the progress of the investigation.”

Despite this shooting incident, Sergeant Hector says the police force has made notable inroads with regards to the crime situation in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Henville’s death marked the 6th homicide committed in the federation for the year.
