2 Shootings on Saturday Night

ZIZ News — Police are investigating two shooting incidents on Saturday night; one that sent a young man to the hospital.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David members of the police force, St. Kitts And Nevis Defence Force, and Ross University Local Constables K9 Unit responded to a shooting incident which occurred at Bird Rock about 12:04 am on Sunday, leaving one person injured and hospitalised.

Shot is Mikhail Liburd of Bird Rock.

Initial investigations revealed that Liburd returned home and was about to enter his home when he was attacked by two gunmen.

Five persons are currently in police custody for questioning, and a semi-automatic pistol and several rounds of ammunition were recovered and taken into police custody.

Meanwhile, police are also investigating a report of shots being fired at St.Johnson’s Avenue.  David says no one was reported injured in that incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
