2013- 2014 National Carnival Queen, Kaeve Armstrong expresses gratitude to those who helped fulfil her dream

Basseterre, St. Kitts- The late Vince Lombardi once said: “The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.” On Friday December 27th, 2013- I realized my dream of one day being crowned the National Carnival Queen of St. Kitts-Nevis. My quest to attain such a prestigious title involved a formula of hard work, dedication and determination, not only on my part but also by those who assisted me. I am ever so grateful to those who devoted their time and efforts to ensure that I was victorious.

I give all the thanks, glory and honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is through God’s will that I was able to persevere to the end. Under God’s guidance, I gained the fortitude and resolve required to achieve this goal. The power of prayer can never be underestimated.

I am thankful to Mr. David Lake, Ms. Sharisma Patrick and all of my LIME St. Kitts- Nevis family. I am honored to have worn the sash that read: “Miss LIME.” Thank you for your unyielding support and I look forward to serving as an ambassador for your esteemed organization.

I extend sincerest gratitude to the world’s most hardworking team led by my chaperone, Ozelle Martin of Glittering Reign Pageant Coaching & Consulting. You served as a guide and mentor and ensured that I was transformed into a queenly young lady- with or without a crown. I am also thankful for the assistance of Julie Martin, Heidi Slack, Yonik Brand, Francine Miller, Charles Emanuel, Vanessa Pinard, Alphonso Henry, Kimberly Ward of Island Beauty Entertainment, Colin Wyatt, Vicky Williams, Kerith Kentish, Arielle Holdip, Jihan Williams, Iantavian Queeley, Faith Benjamin, Jeffrey Joseph, Levar Flanders, Mandy Herbert and the trainers at Elite Fitness, Curtis Martin, Krystal Glasford, Melbourne, Chazzette Wilkin, Khyla Brown, Jason Amory, Louis Armand, Paul Grey and KC 5 Band.

Words cannot express how grateful I am for the unwavering support provided by my family. Mommy, Daddy, Tamisha, Kjah and Yehudi- I love you unconditionally.

You are the best support system anyone can ask for and with your constant words of love and motivation- I can achieve anything! You are the wind beneath my wings.

Congratulations to the National Carnival Committee for staging a pageant for the ages. I was provided with an experience to remember and I have certainly evolved and I aspire to be greater. I gained four sisters along the way- Lasanna, Brianda, Shakeda and Yarayni. I am blessed to have taken this journey with such a wonderful and ambitious group of young ladies.

To my friends, well-wishers and supporters- THANK YOU! Your words of encouragement kept me going and I wanted to secure victory for you! We will all wear this crown together. I will carry this title with great dignity and pride and will do my utmost best whenever I represent the good people of St. Kitts- Nevis on the world stage.

It is my intention to use this year and beyond to promote my platform, which focuses on the importance of music education for all students in all schools. I hope to develop a program in the near future and once again, I will need your support.

Happy New Year and May God bless you all.
