2016 New Year’s Honours Revealed

(ZIZ News) — The awardees for the 2016 New Year’s Honours have been revealed.

On Thursday, ZIZ learnt that Her Majesty the Queen had consented to the appointment of four citizens for the 2016 Order of the British Empire.

Bishop Kelvin C. Jones will be presented with the Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) award.

That award comes as a result of Jones’ service to the community in the field of religion.

Meantime, Clarita Richards will be presented with the Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) award for services to education, music and public administration.

Ruperta Richards-Leader and Keith Scarborough will receive Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire awards.

Richards- Leader’s award is in recognition of contribution to the healthcare service, while Scarborough is being recognised for cultural and community service.
