2019 Most Remarkable Teens

ZIZ News — 25 of the federation’s most remarkable teens for 2019 were honoured at a special sitting of the National Assembly on Thursday.

Government officials, parliamentary representatives, family, friends and well wishers gathered at government headquarters to hear the tributes made to the 25 Remarkable Teens from high schools and colleges across the federation.

The reading of individual profiles was done by some of 2018 Most Remarkable Teens and current Caricom Youth Ambassadors followed by the award presentation by Members of Parliament.

Minister of Youth Hon. Shawn Richards said the event was an affirmation that the federation’s young people have answered the call to service and are poised to enter adulthood with a great sense of accomplishment and purpose.

He further encouraged the honourees to keep using their talents to help others.

Minister Richards also commended the parents, guardians and persons within their communities for empowering the remarkable teens.

The teens were recognized in the areas of Academics, Music, Scholar Athlete, Personal Decision To Change, Courage To Overcome, Dance, Visual Arts, Photography, Spiritual Commitment, Patriotism, Environmental Science, Performing Arts, Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Volunteerism.

The Remarkable Teens Awards Ceremony was the culminating event for the observance of Youth Month 2019 which was guided by the theme “Empowering Our Youth To Follow Their Dreams”.
