2020 Brimstone Hill Primary School Heritage Quiz
Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 26, 2020 (ZIZ News): The Dr. Willam Connor Primary School is the 2020 winners of the Brimstone Hill History and Heritage Primary School Quiz held at the Anglican Church Hall on Tuesday.
Dr. William Connor Primary edged out Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary, George Moody Stuart Primary and Sandy Point Primary to take the top prize.
The students were quizzed across categories including Geography, History, Civics, festivals/music/ cultural heritage/ sports and Caribbean affairs.
Historian, Leonard Stapleton described the information gained from the competition as important and advised the students to take it as a learning experience.
At the end of the competition Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary scored 6 points to take 4th place, Sandy Point Primary rook third with 8 points, George Moody Stuart grabbed 2nd place with 10 points and Dr. William Connor won with 12 points.
Plaques were presented to the students of each school as well as trophies for the students with the highest scores in the preliminaries and semifinals; but in the end the Dr. William Connor Primary school will house the Sir. Probyn Inniss trophy.
Dr. Williams Connor Primary students, Kahliyah Morton and Larry Vaughn said they were proud of their win.
The Brimstone Hill History and Heritage Primary School Quiz was held as part of the month of activities for Heritage and Heritage Month.
