25 Most Remarkable Teens

Connie Howard, Peace Corps Volunteer

ZIZ Newsroom, Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 16, 2012: The 2012 edition of the 25 Most Remarkable Teens is underway.

Peace Corps volunteer, Connie Howard, who is working with the Ministry of Youth Empowerment on the project, said that the 2011 programme brought many opportunities to the award recipients.

Activities included sessions on career planning, job readiness, resume writing, invited speakers, volunteer corps, community, service and volunteer projects and leadership training.

Howard mentioned that the awardees were well-prepared to be leaders in the federation.

She said that this type of award can have far-reaching benefits, as the exposure brought to these awardees has a trickle-down effect to other young people who aspire to be leaders.

She also said that the programme has now been expanded to include Nevis and that the interviews had been done and the selected teens would soon be announced.
