(ZIZ News) — The St. Kitts Christian Council and the St. Kitts Evangelical Association collaborated to host Sunday evening’s 31st Anniversary of Independence State Service.
Held at the Wesley Methodist Church on Seaton Street in Basseterre, the service was attended by persons from a wide cross section of the community including Governor General Sir Edmund Lawrence, and Prime Minister the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas as well as other members of the Federal Cabinet.
Priest of the St. Peter’s and Holy Trinity Parish Churches Reverend Canon Isaiah Phillip delivered an invigorating sermon which encouraged attendees to celebrate the nation’s progress.
The country’s CARICOM Youth Ambassador Sonia Boddie also participated in the service. She led the responsorial psalm.
