Race for the Top Heats Up This Weekend
BASSETERRE: Match Week Eleven promises fireworks as league leaders Old Road United Jets face their sternest test yet, while second-place Newtown United clash with third-place Village Superstars in a must-win showdown at the National Bank Group Technical Center.
The weekend’s marquee fixture sees Honda Newtown United;riding a five-game winning streak take on Rams Village Superstars on Saturday at 4:00 PM. With Newtown trailing Old Road by six points, they cannot afford to drop points against a Village side that finally found their winning form with a 4-2 victory over St. Peters last week.
This is a massive match for both teams. Village will look to build momentum and solidify their third-place position, while Newtown must keep pace with the runaway leaders.
Sunday’s 6:00 PM kickoff features MFCR Old Road United Jets hosting Development Bank St. Peters FC. The unbeaten Jets, with 28 points and a +25 goal difference, will be favorites, but St. Peters have shown they can compete, sitting fourth with 15 points.
Defending champions St. Paul’s United continue their redemption tour Saturday at 8PM against Cayon Rockets. Despite their six-point deduction, St. Paul’s have won four straight and will look to make it five against mid-table Cayon.
At the bottom, TGE Dieppe Bay Eagles seek consecutive wins for the first time this season when they face Sandy Point FC at 6PM Saturday. The Eagles broke their winless streak with a 3-0 triumph last week and will hope to climb away from relegation danger.
All five matches will be played at the National Bank Group Technical Center and streamed live on FIFA+.
