Lodge Patriots Pull Clear as Saddlers Stun Trinity
BASSETERRE: Lodge Patriots have opened a three-point gap at the top of the SKNFA Division One after a commanding Tuesday victory, while Saddlers United served up the round’s biggest upset — defeating Trinity/Challengers United to dramatically shake up the table.
Lodge Patriots moved decisively ahead of Garden Hotspurs with a dominant 5-2 victory over Security Forces United on Tuesday evening. The win takes Patriots to 27 points from 11 matches — three clear of Hotspurs, who have played one game fewer. With a goal difference of +34, Patriots are now the clear favourites to claim the Division One title.
The standout result of the round came from Saddlers United, who overcame Trinity/Challengers United 3-1 to leap to sixth place on 15 points. For Trinity, the defeat is a painful blow — they drop to third on 19 points alongside Molineux and Village Galaxy, with Saddlers now breathing down their necks.
Mantab and Village Galaxy played out a draw, splitting the points and leaving both sides’ mid-table ambitions largely unchanged. Village Galaxy remain fifth on 19 points, while Mantab climb to seventh on 13 — but with games running out, both clubs will feel they needed a win.
At the bottom, Security Forces United’s heavy defeat leaves them on five points from 11 games, in growing danger of relegation. Rivers of Living Water remain anchored to minus three points following their earlier six-point deduction under Rule 10(a) of the SKNFA Competition Rules, and their Division One survival looks all but impossible.
