CEDEMA–RSS MOU to Support SKN
BASSETERRE – St. Kitts and Nevis and other OECS nations will benefit from a revised Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), reaffirming the commitment of CEDEMA and the RSS to deepen collaboration in disaster management and regional security.
The MOU was signed by CDEMA Executive Director Ms. Elizabeth Riley, and the Director of the Regional Security System (RSS) Rear Admiral Errington Shurland in Castries, St. Lucia.
The updated agreement enhances cooperation through improved information exchange on threat assessments to support resilience within law enforcement operations, technical assistance and knowledge sharing, including lessons learned and best practices, joint procurement of relief equipment and training, and collaborative projects that strengthen disaster preparedness and response across the region.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister Hon. Philip J. Pierre of St. Lucia, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships in advancing regional resilience.
“Together, we continue working to protect lives, strengthen preparedness, and build a more resilient Caribbean,” said CEDEMA.
