Conaree Looks to Salvage Season in Cup Final

ST. PETERS — SOL Island Auto Conaree FC advanced to the 2026 SKNFA FA Cup final with a hard-fought 2-2 (5-4 on penalties) victory over RAMS Village Superstars in Saturday’s semifinal at the NBG Technical Center.

Conaree will now face unbeaten Premier League leaders MFCR Old Road United Jets in Wednesday’s final at the same venue starting at 7 p.m.

An own goal by Village’s Keithroy Williams in the 26th minute handed Conaree the early lead. Ahijah Wilkes extended the advantage to 2-0 in the 60th minute. Village responded swiftly, with Samani Williams pulling one back in the 59th minute and Joseph Wilkes equalizing in the 81st to force the shootout.

In the decisive penalties, Village converted through G’vaune Amory, Joseph Wilkes, Denis Fleming and Ber-Nell Hobson. Conaree held firm with successful kicks from Errol O’Loughlin, Byron Phillip, Jayan Duncan, Keondre Maynard and Tijani Fahie to secure the 5-4 win.

Both teams sit outside the Premier League playoff places after 17 matches, with Village Superstars in sixth on 26 points (following a two-point deduction) and Conaree in seventh on 15 points. Neither will feature in the top-four Super Four stage that determines the league champion.

For Conaree, the cup final offers a chance to redeem what has been a difficult league campaign marked by inconsistency. A victory on Wednesday would provide silverware and a positive end to the season.

Village Superstars, who earlier delivered dominant wins including an 8-1 thrashing of Mantab in the Round of 16, exit the competition after a spirited comeback that nearly forced extra time beyond
