Judge Orders Release Of Woman Accused In T&T PM Assassination Plot

A Trinidad and Tobago high court judge has ordered the release of a woman detained in connection with an alleged plot to assassinate Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and other senior government officials.

Star Sabga was released after Justice Vigel Paul granted her relief from the conditions of her preventive detention.

Her legal team had challenged her continued detention, and the matter remains before the courts.

Sabga was among several people detained during Trinidad and Tobago’s state of emergency as part of a police investigation into the alleged plot.

Authorities are continuing their investigation, while related legal proceedings move forward.
