Ukraine Continues to Seek Diplomacy to End War

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy says he sees a window for U.S. mediation to help end the war with Russia, potentially extending into next summer.

Zelenskiy says Ukraine has worked with U.S. And European officials on a one page proposal to present to Moscow.

The proposal includes a ceasefire and a plan for a free economic zone in parts of the Donbas, with management by a neutral third party.

Russia, however, remains skeptical of the proposal and continues to demand control over territory it claims as its own.

The latest diplomatic efforts come as fighting continues more than four years after Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine.
