Conaree and Dieppe Bay Draw 2-2

BASSETERRE — TGE Dieppe Bay Eagles saw their perfect start checked Friday night, playing to a 2-2 draw with Conaree FC at the National Bank Group Technical Center, as the 2026-’27 SKNFA/National Bank Group Premier League’s second match week shifts into its weekend slate.

The result can cost Dieppe Bay sole possession of first place after their 5-1 rout of 607 Construction Lodge Patriots in last weekend, though the Eagles remain unbeaten through two matches. For Conaree, the point marks their first of the season after opening with a 3-0 loss to St. Paul’s United.

Saturday brings a doubleheader at the National Bank Group Technical Center. At 6 p.m., SKELEC Garden Hotspurs — still searching for their first goal of the season after a 4-0 defeat to Village Superstars — goes up against Newtown United, who sit among the early pace-setters after their 2-0 upset of defending champions Old Road United Jets. Two hours later, at 8:30 p.m., Village Superstars plays Cayon Rockets FC, who salvaged a point from a scoreless, card-filled draw with St. Peters last weekend despite finishing with nine men.

Sunday’s action opens at 5 p.m. with St. Peters FC hosting Lodge Patriots, a matchup between a club still unbeaten but winless and one that has yet to find the back of the net through one match. St. Peters will look to build on the point they took from nine-man Cayon last weekend, while Lodge Patriots try to bounce back from their five-goal opening defeat.

The weekend closes with the round’s headline fixture, as Old Road United Jets host St. Paul’s United at 7:30 p.m. Old Road went the entirety of last season unbeaten en route to the title but sit near the bottom of the table after their Week One loss to Newtown. St. Paul’s United enter unbeaten after a 3-0 win over Conaree and will look to keep pace at the top of the standings.
