Caribbean Ministers Approve 12 Fisheries Resolutions in Jamaica
Marine Resources Minister Samal Duggins represented St. Kitts and Nevis at a regional meeting in Jamaica on Monday, where Caribbean ministers approved 12 resolutions to improve fisheries management.
The measures cover planning the use of marine areas, improving fisheries data, tracing the origin of seafood and combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.
The decisions are aimed at strengthening cooperation among Caribbean countries to protect marine resources and address challenges in fisheries and aquaculture.
Antigua and Barbuda chaired the 17th Special Meeting of the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism’s Ministerial Council. It was held in Trelawny during the Caribbean Week of Agriculture.
