BASSETERRE — Education Minister and Acting Prime Minister Dr. Geoffrey Hanley toured the near-completed Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School in Molineux on Thursday. The new campus is set to reopen in January 2027, nearly five years after the original school was destroyed by fire.
During the tour, Dr. Hanley was briefed by the Public Works Department on the scope of the construction and the finishing work being completed ahead of the opening.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project. He said it was important for students and teachers to have a safe, modern environment that is conducive to learning.
Dr. Hanley said he looks forward to students returning to the school when it reopens. He described the coming opening as an important milestone for Molineux and the wider education sector.
The Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School was destroyed by fire in March 2022. Construction of the new campus began in 2025.
