Beefing Up Security at JNF

CameronWilkinson-2(ZIZ News) — Medical Chief of Staff at The Joseph N France General Hospital, Dr. Cameron Wilkinson, said health officials are taking steps to beef up security at the institution.

He told ZIZ News that the plans include short and long-term solutions.

“We’ll be having a greater security force at the hospital. And in the long term will be looking at security cameras, securing the perimeter of the hospital. As you know right now there is no real fence that goes all the way around the hospital so one can enter the compound from the front, the back, the sides, and so forth. That would have to be secured long-term,” he said.

He also reassured the general public that the Health Ministry is doing everything in its power to ensure the safety of the staff and patients at the hospital.

“We all have concerns following the incident last night but with the increased security presence and the plan to fully implement the security plan they can rest assured that things will be much better,” he said.

Hospital and other ministry officials held a strategy meeting on Tuesday to examine the incident at the hospital and put together a revamped security plan.
