UPS Sponsors Family Walk & Run

Basseterre, St. Kitts – Sept 3 2011 – The largest and leading courier service in the world, UPS, has thrown its support behind an upcoming charity event that is being organized to benefit the St. Christopher Children’s Home, in Basseterre.

At a simple but important handing over ceremony that was held on Tuesday morning, (30th August, 2011), the Managing Director of Hobson Enterprises, Mr. Damion Hobson, presented a sponsorship cheque to organizers of the event, on behalf of their principal, UPS.

The financial contribution of $1,000 is to go towards the sponsorship of the 2nd Annual Family Walk and Run, a charity event scheduled to take place on Saturday 1st October 2011, starting at the Royal St. Kitts Golf club.

“To all Kittitians, the St. Christopher Children’s Home in West Basseterre is an institution that will always deserve the support and kindness of corporate St. Kitts and Hobson Enterprises as the local agents for UPS, are very happy to be associated with any effort that would deliver benefits to the children who reside there, said Mr. Hobson.”

Mr. Hobson said he hoped that their token of support will go a long way, in helping to provide for the children, in terms of their clothing, health services, food, education and home improvement.

Hobson is hopeful that his company’s public support for the project will encourage others to donate and to participate to the cause.

“At UPS, we are mindful that, though our donation of EC$1,000, is just one of the many contributions and sponsorship being provided for the annual charity, it will no doubt encourage others to join this noble cause, to provide tangible support to the Children’s Home and also the Family Walk & Run fundraiser” said Mr. Hobson.

“The management and staff of UPS, congratulate the coordinators of the charity event, and commend them on their devotion and loyalty, to the cause of the youngsters of St. Kitts, who are most in need of our public love and affection, stated the UPS official.

Mr. Hobson handed over the check to the Chairman of the St. Christopher Children’s Home, Mr. Sebastian Mottram.

“I am happy to partner with UPS and Hobson Enterprise and I invite everyone to come on out and participate in the, 2nd Annual Family Walk and Run charity event” said Mr Mottram.

UPS assured the committee members of the St. Christopher Home, and the organizing committee for the charity, that they will continue to support programs held by the home, because their activities are in the best interest of the children.

The ceremony was held at the headquarters of Hobson Enterprises, at the Paul Southwell Industrial Park, in Basseterre.
