Scholarship Opportunities for Children of First Responders

MikeDeVente-1(ZIZ News) – Children of first responders and administrators in the region are being given the opportunity to benefit from scholarships funded by the Motorola Solutions Foundation.

Mike deVente, Vice President of North America Channels at Motorola Solutions said the scholarship came out of an alliance formed between Motorola Solutions and the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police.

“And that alliance was to fund scholarships. Eight years later, I am proud to say that it has grown even stronger, in fact, it is one of the longest running and one of the most important financial investments we make in all of Latin America and it had become the pride of the Motorola Solutions Foundation of Latin America so thank you very much for letting us be a part of that,” he stated.

deVente said St. Kitts has benefited from the scholarship program.

“There were several in fact, right here in St. Kitts. Remember we support the ACCP as a whole, which is all the Caribbean nations and they select each year. This year for example, 10 but we treat all of the islands similarly and we pick the best candidates. In fact we had a repeat candidate from St. Kitts and Nevis which is actually in the second year of school in New York right now in fact,” he said.

To date, the Motorola Solutions Foundation has funded 65 scholarships in the last eight years.
