Police Updates (June 16, 2015)

(ZIZ News) — Stephen Pemberton of Christ Church was formally arrested and charged for Battery, which occurred on June 13th 2015.

Police Investigates fatal Traffic Accident in Newton Ground

An investigator at Sandy Point Police Station is investigating the circumstances by a fatal traffic accident occurred on Sunday 14th June 2015 about 7:00 pm, at Main Street Newton Ground, leaving one person dead.

Initial investigations revealed that motor omni bus H1766 driven by Leroy James of Saddlers Village was travelling towards Sandy Point direction when he struck a pedestrian, Mr Laughton Lake of Newton Ground. Mr Lake was transported to the J.N.F General Hospital by the E.M.S where he succumbed to his injuries.

Leroy James was taken in to police custody, assisting with the investigations.

Monday 15th June 2015 an autopsy was conducted on the body of Laughton Lake by resident Pathologist, Dr. Adrian Nunez, which concluded that death was caused by hypovolemic shock due to multiple traumatic lesions as a result of a traffic accident.

The High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police takes this opportunity on behalf of the rank and file of the Force to extend condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the late Laughton Lake.

In other News: The Violent Crime Unit (VCU) is investigating a shooting incident which occurred at Shanty Town, Cayon on Monday 15th June 2015 about 2:55 pm, which resulted in one (1) fatally wounded.

Initial investigations revealed that Everrette Battice alias “Roach” 25 years old of Keys Village was attacked by armed assailant(s) and as a result he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. One (1) young man of Cayon Village is in police custody assisting with the investigations.

The High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police takes this opportunity on behalf of the rank and file of the Force to extend condolences to the bereaved family and friends of the late Everrette Battice. Also, to reassure his family members, friends, and the entire Federation, that this matter will be provided all available resources to bring the perpetrator or perpetrators to justice.
