Police Force asks for Patience and Cooperation ahead of Coroner’s Inquest

(ZIZ News) – The Coroner’s Inquest into the October 17th 2015 death of 17-year-old Philo Wallace is set for Thursday and the local police force is asking for patience and cooperation from the public.

Wallace’s shooting death by an off duty police officer, whose name is yet to be released by the top security organisation, has received widespread media coverage.

Realising the popularity of the case, the police force’s Public Relations Unit, issued a release on Wednesday morning, asking the public to wait for the outcome of the inquest.

The force is quoted in the release as saying, it “will use this as an opportunity to review and where necessary, improve policing, specifically concerning those matters where an officer of the law is implicated,” adding “once the inquest is over, we will use the findings to develop our organisational learning and implement any changes that may be necessary to improve our service and accountability to the public.”

The Coroner’s Inquest will be held at the Charlestown Coroner’s Court.
