St. Kitts and Nevis condemns killing of US Ambassador to Libya

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Ambassador to the United States, Her Excellency Jacinth Henry-Martin

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 14TH 2012 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis has condemned the attack on the United States Consulate in Benghazi, Libya which resulted in the death of four Americans including veteran Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

“The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis stands unequivicolly in its condemnation of the storming of the United States Consulate in Benghazi, Libya by violent and misguided protesters who demonstrated callous and wanton disregard for human life. In equal measure, St. Kitts and Nevis condemns the resulting loss of life and the destruction of property,” said Her Excellency Mrs. Jacinth Henry-Martin, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Ambassador to the United States.

“St. Kitts and Nevis stands in solidarity with the Government and People of the United States of America on this solemn occasion and mourns with them the loss of United States Ambassador to Libya, His Excellency Christopher Stevens and three U.S. government officers,” the statement added.

Ambassador Henry-Martin also expressed “deepest condolences to the families, friends and loved ones of these departed citizens of the United States of America who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to their beloved country.”
