CAAP Hosts Development Workshop

Basseterre, St Kitts, June 25 2012: The Caribbean Association of Administrative Professionals (CAAP) is celebrating twenty-five years of elevating the standard of the administrative profession in the region. CAAP – an umbrella organization for associations of office professionals in the Caribbean – will convene its 25th Council Meeting in Basseterre, St Kitts during the period July 10th -13th 2013. On the schedule of activities is a one-day professional development workshop to be held on Thursday 11th July 2013 from 8:00am to 4:00pm at the Ocean Terrace Inn.

“Building Effective International Relations in a Multi-Cultural Environment” is the theme of the workshop which will provide a compact, comprehensive training package that will benefit every administrative professional. The material will include the following topic areas:

  • Cultural Differences and Faux Pax
  • The right way to organize ceremonies, conferences, meetings etc
  • Correct forms of address
  • Orders of precedence
  • Flag code etiquette
  • Recognition of honoured guests
  • Appearance and self-presentation
  • Entertaining, menu and table cards etc….


The workshop will be ably facilitated by Mrs Jennifer Hinkson, who is Assistant Registrar/Protocol Officer at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados, and will bring to bear her wealth of experience on the subject areas. The target audience for this exercise includes executive officers, administrative assistants, office managers, executive secretaries and all administrative professionals.
