Opposition Calls for Church Intervention

The St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party is calling for assistance and intervention from the federation’s churches in the fight against crime.

Speaking at the party’s press conference on crime on Wednesday, newly appointed opposition candidate for constituency #1 Dr. Geoffrey Hanley said “ as crime continues to rise, the need to come together as a community becomes even clearer.”

He said the party believes that spiritual intervention can play a major role in reducing instances of crime.

Dr. Hanley said there is an urgent need for a national approach that will involve all stakeholders in our society as finding an effective solution to crime requires a national discussion.
