Minister Richards Thanks ECCB for Contribution to Financial Literacy

Acting Prime minister, Hon Shawn Richards has thanked the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union for its contribution to financial literacy over the years.

Minister Richards was at the time delivering an address to the nation to declare Financial Information Month (FIM) officially open. He also gave recognition to the public and private sector entities.

There are several activities planned for this year’s Financial Information Month celebrations. Activities include community outreach events, a financial fair on October 26th at Independence Square, a business symposium on October 31st and presentations on financial issues at schools.

Minister Richards also used the opportunity to encourage the general public to take part in as many FIM 2018 activities during the month of October.

This year’s Financial Information Month is being held under the theme, “Financial Empowerment through Education”.
